I'm Alastair, it's just me. I create, repair and modify wooden doors in Bath. Front doors, back doors, indoors. I've worked with wood my whole life.

I love the doors of Georgian Bath. They are beautiful, functional, historical and always in use. They need care, maintenance, adjustment, modification and, occasionally, replacement. I work mostly with doors as it really is just me, no customer service team, no admin staff. Doors are always accessible and friendly to work on.​

My workshop is in Westwood, you are welcome to visit. It's my workplace and haven. I'm rarely absent for long, even on days off I find myself drawn back to experiment.

It wasn't a straightforward job as it is an old victorian property with a very narrow doorway so although the door was purchased off the shelf it needed some work to make it fit. We also asked Alastair to fit a multi point locking system in the door. He carried out this work in a very timely and professional manner and we were very pleased with the finished result. The house looks really lovely now 🙂"

"Alastair repaired and restored our Edwardian wooden front door when we moved in 2024, it had been untouched for at least 40 years. He removed the door to strip it back and returned it like new. It has a stained glass panel that he was careful to leave unharmed! Recently we wanted the security on the door upgraded so of course had Alastair back to do this. He fitted deadbolts and a new chain, all works flawlessly. He loves his work and just was lovely to deal with. Thank you!"
